LA/LB PierPass Fee to Increase, Effective Aug. 1

According to an announcement by the West Coast MTO Agreement (WCMTOA), the Traffic Mitigation Fee (TMF) at the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach will increase by 4%, effective August 1, 2015. The fee, administered by PierPass to fund its OffPeak gate program, was last adjusted in August 2013.

The new TMF will be:

– USD 69.17 per TEU
– USD 138.34 per FEU

The TMF helps pay for the night and Saturday marine terminal shifts implemented to relieve daytime congestion in and around the Southern California port complex. Only non-exempt containers moved during peak hours (Monday through Friday, 3 a.m. to 6 p.m.) are subject to the TMF. If you have any questions or concerns related to specific shipments, please contact your Walker representative.
