Walker SCM welcomes Robert Tennant, Director of Quality and Life Sciences
Walker SCM, LLC, a minority-certified global logistics, transportation and supply chain management Company, is pleased to announce the addition of Robert Tennant, as Director of Quality for its Life Science Division (LS), which includes, but is not limited to Biosimilars, Specialty, Products, Pharmaceuticals, and Medical Devices. Walker SCM will hyper-focus on offering support to the LS industry in the areas of Transportation (including Cold Chain), Warehousing, Distribution, Re-Labeling, Reverse Logistics, and Logistics. Mr. Walker, CEO/President of Walker SCM, stated, “We are expanding very rapidly in the LS industry and we listen to our strategic LS partners and understood what it would take to be a viable partner in the industry. My commitment has not wavered and to bring someone like Mr. Tennant on the team was spot on and timely.” In addition to Mr. Tennant responsibility’s to the LS quality systems, he will also be responsible for fortifying the companies Quality Systems within the company’s other focused industries such as: automotive, consumer, transportation, technology and energy.
Mr. Tennant is primed for this position given his 17 plus years’ of experience in the global pharmaceutical regulatory compliance development, clinical and commercial environments. He is poised to fortify Walker SCM quality systems, as a veteran to hosting and primary contact with the FDA, executing global risk management audit programs and establishing Quality metrics reporting to Corporate Management. His core quality competencies include sterile manufacturing of liquids and lipids, solid and oral dose, hard and soft gel, creams/ointments, blow-fill-seal, and medical devices with emphasis in Microbiology and Quality Control laboratory. His extensive experience also includes 8 years of developing and managing Quality professionals.
Mr. Tennant’s tenure at global LS companies include Exeltis, The Medicines Company , Reliant Pharmaceuticals, Actavis and, Osteotech. His responsibilities have ranged most recently and formerly as Head of Quality; Director, Supplier Quality and Regulatory Compliance (Global); Sr. Manager, GMP Compliance (Global), as well as other Quality control key positions. Mr. Tennant has been recognized for his successful FDA inspections, Six Sigma project championship leadership and management of a successful product recall.
